Freedom of expression in the digital sphere

It has become commonplace to say that freedom of expression is the cornerstone of any democratic system. This understanding is not insignificant; on the contrary, it encompasses the importance and preponderance of freedom of expression within the framework of any democratic republic. Without freedom of expression, there is no dialogue; without freedom of expression, there is no exchange of ideas; without freedom of expression, there is no criticism of public power; without freedom of expression, there is no discovery of the truth; without freedom of expression, there is no public opinion. In short, without freedom of expression, there is no democracy.
