Introduction
Synopsis
Freedom of expression is a fundamental issue for understanding the future, as democracy and freedom of the press go hand in hand.
Democracy in these times requires transparency, as it is the way to provide information to citizens so that they can make informed decisions based on their own criteria. Therefore, democracy cannot be protected without first prioritizing freedom of expression in general, and freedom of the press in particular.
However, in these times of information overload and demands for transparency, subtle forms of repression of freedom of expression are emerging on the one hand, and irresponsible licentiousness on the other, which jeopardize the reputation of third parties, whether individuals, institutions, or projects.
